McKelvie club registrations open at 7pm on Thursday, Sept 16, 2021. Please click the Club link on the McKelvie website to access the document containing the links to each registration form.  Each club has its own registration link and facilitator. If you have any questions about a club, please reach out directly to the facilitator of that club.

McKelvie Quarter 1 Intramural registration will open on Wednesday, September 8th at 7:00p.m. The online registration form links can be accessed by clicking on the Intramural tab on the McKelvie website. Please note that if your child does not make it into the Quarter 1 session, they will be automatically placed in the session for Quarter 2.  Quarter 2 Intramurals run from the week of November 15th to the week of January 14th.

McKelvie Intramurals are back!  We have four fantastic opportunities for your child to get involved at McKelvie during our first quarter.  Please review  THIS DOCUMENT  with the descriptions of what is being offered. Note that this information is also available on the MIS website under the Intramurals tab. Due to high demand, we do have a limit of the number of students who are able to participate each quarter.  First quarter intramural sign-ups will open on Wednesday, September 8th at 7:00p.m.   Please note that if your child is put on the waitlist, they will be automatically placed in that intramural for the 2nd quarter.  You will be notified within a couple of days if your child is in.  Please direct any questions to Amy  Francis  at  francisa@sau25.net . McKelvie Chorus: Tuesday OR Thursday 8:00am September-May McKelvie Chorus meets at 8:00am on Tuesdays for 6th Grade and Thursdays for 5th Grade. Students should arrive in the cafeteria by 7:55am. Mrs. Coughlin will escort the students from the cafeteria to the music room for rehearsal. We have two mandatory concerts a year; one in Dec and one in May. Students should have a 1” black three ring binder to hold their music. Given CDC suggestions, it is HIGHLY advised that singers wear the singing masks that will be handed out in rehearsal. Dear Bedford Families, The New Hampshire Department of Education wants to hear from staff, families, and community members.   The 603 Bright Futures Survey is an opportunity for you to have your voice heard. These surveys will gather feedback around learning, school climate, family and community engagement, and parent involvement in special education. Parents completing the survey should complete it once for each child. The New Hampshire Department of Education  hopes to gain insight regarding the successes and challenges of the recent school year and to plan for the 2021-2022 school year. The Department of Education has partnered with Panorama Education to implement the 603 Bright Futures Survey. The survey will remain open until June 30. If you missed out on ordering a McKelvie 2020-21 yearbook, there are still a handful available for purchase on a first come, first served basis. If you'd like to purchase one of the extras, please send in either $25 cash or a check made payable to McKelvie Intermediate School. Please put your student's name, homeroom teacher and "yearbook" on the envelope and "Attention: Susan Cavanaugh".

Due to the excessive heat, the Sixth grade Field Day has been rescheduled for Thursday, June 10th. In order to make the most of this fun day, please bring in a towel to sit on outside, sunscreen, bug spray (especially if you are taking a nature walk), a water bottle to refill all day, and that beaming end-of-the-year smile you've been saving up!  Lunch will be at the regularly scheduled time in the cafeteria. Please check the weather report so you can dress accordingly.

Sales are now underway for the 2020-21 McKelvie yearbook. This year's theme is " A Year Like No Other ” and will contain lots of great memories from this school year.  Yearbooks cost $25 each and, due to Covid precautions, the easiest and safest method of ordering is online. The link for online ordering is below and on the reminder postcard that your student will bring home. Sales end on Wednesday, April 21, 2021. McKelvie is happy to announce our annual yearbook cover contest. One sixth grade and one fifth grade drawing will be selected for the front and back covers and the winners will receive a free yearbook. All students are welcome to participate! Picture Retake Day will be Monday, November 23rd. Remote and Distance Learning students will have their  pictures taken between noon and 2:45.   Pictures will be taken at McKelvie in Room 17.   A parent/guardian may walk their child to the Main Office ( Fully Remote and Distance Learning students ) and students will then proceed down to room 17.  In-person students (A-K) will have their pictures taken during the school day.  Please see  THIS FLYER  from Geskus, with instructions on how you can pre-order student photos if your child did not have pictures taken earlier or if you need a retake. Important Update on the McKelvie 2019-20 Yearbook We have not distributed the 2019-20 McKelvie yearbooks yet. Due to Covid, there was a delay in receiving the books and subsequently we discovered a printing issue, so the publisher is reprinting them. Once we have a new delivery date, we will notify families of the plan for distribution. Thanks for your patience during these unprecedented times.

McKelvie, the time has come to return your library books (not textbooks just yet)! Hello, families! You still have time to order your 19/20 McKelvie Intermediate School yearbook. This year's theme is "We Rise by Lifting Others". Books cost $25 each. Due to the school closure, we are only able to accept online orders. Instructions for online ordering are on the Yearbook Club website under "Ordering Info" or by clicking the link below.  McKelvie Yearbook Online Ordering Order deadline is Wednesday, April 15, 2020.  Note that once we submit the book to our publisher, we will have more information to share about the plan for distribution. Given these challenging times, a McKelvie school yearbook would be a nice way to help students retain connections made during the 19/20 school year. Order your copy today!

The Bedford School District Food Service Department will be providing grab 'n go breakfast and lunch for all students in the community at no charge.  Pick up will be available 9am-12pm at the High School front entrance.  PLEASE  fill out the Food Service Meal Order Form ( bit.ly/ BSDFoodServiceMealOrderForm ). Deadline for pre-ordering is 2pm the previous day. Please know that  pre-ordering is a must in order to ensure you have meals. If pick up is an issue please contact Emily Murphy for delivery options. Contact Emily Murphy at  murphye@bedfordnhk12.net   for any questions or concerns.  For additional meal and food support, the Bedford Community Food Pantry has extended their hours from 9am-1pm.
