We are proud to announce that McKelvie will be offering another Scholastic Holiday Book Fair.  The fair will include a large selection of award-winning children's books, as well as young adult books, with a wide range of topics such as science, sports, fiction, fun trivia, mystery, and science fiction. Hours of operation are as follows: Tuesday 12/12 :  8am-5pm Wednesday 12/13 :  8am-5pm Thursday 12/14 :  11am-6:30pm Students are allowed to shop for books during lunch time as well as their free period .  Parents are welcome to come in and shop at 8am-8:50 and during published hours. Note: The book fair is in Room 1. We look forward to seeing you and your children at the Holiday Book Fair!

McKelvie will be conducting talent show auditions on Tuesday, Dec 5th, from 3:30-4:40pm (instrument acts only) and on Wed, Dec 6th, from 3:30-4:40pm (all other acts). Unfortunately, due to a family crisis, guest speaker Carol Todd will be unable to travel to New Hampshire for her presentations at the Christa McAuliffe Technology Conference. Attempts to find a replacement were unsuccessful, so this event has been CANCELLED .

The deadline for the 2017-18 McKelvie yearbook design contest has been extended. This year's theme is " Today's Learners, Tomorrow's Leaders".   Please click  HERE  for all of the details. Submissions are due by Tuesday, November 21st.

Please join some of the McKelvie Staff at Cinemagic in Merrimack, NH, on Monday, November 20th to view Wonder! (PG 1 hr. 53 min.) We will attend the show that will be scheduled close to 7:00 PM. The exact show time will not be determined until Friday the 17th due to this being a new movie release.   This much anticipated movie is based on the New York Times Bestseller Wonder by R.J. Palacio. Parents/Guardians will be asked to stay at the event with their child as McKelvie staff will be coming to view this movie with their family members and will not be available to supervise students. Ticket sales will open up online Friday, Nov. 17th , through Fandango , Movietickets.com or the Cinemagic website . These sales will be on a first come, first serve basis. We will announce the exact show time Friday, November 17th , through Principal Notes. We hope to see you and your child(ren) at the movies!

McKelvie Student Council is excited to offer a viewing of Lego Batman on Thursday, November 16th , 2017!   Our viewing will begin after school (approximately 3:30 pm ) and is scheduled to end by 5:30 pm. Please make arrangements to have your child(ren) picked up by 5:30 pm at the front entrance of the school. Attendance is free, but “Snack Shop” novelty ice cream treats, chips, and water will be available for $1 each.  Students may bring money to purchase a snack or bring the snack of his or her choice. Proceeds will benefit our school through promoting Student Council activities. In order to attend, students must bring this completed form to their homeroom teacher by Wednesday, November 15th .

Intramural descriptions for Quarter 2 are posted on the McKelvie website under Intramurals>Q2 Intramural Offerings. You can also view the descriptions by clicking the link below. Signups begin on Friday, October 27th, at 5pm and will remain open until filled or Friday, November 3, at 3pm, whichever comes first. IMPORTANT: Indoor Soccer is already full for Q2 due to the very large waiting list from quarter one. All intramurals, with the exception of soccer , will start the week of November 6th and run until January 19th. The 11th annual McKelvie Move-A-Thon is right around the corner and once again we are running our Move-A-Thon tshirt design contest for grade six students . Due to the overwhelming response for the Quarter 1 Soccer Intramural, many students have been placed on a waitlist. You should receive either a confirmation or waitlist notification today from the Intramural Coordinator, Susan Cavanaugh. Registrations were filled in the order in which received and each session has a limit of 24 students. Students who are waitlisted will automatically be placed on either the Q2 or Q3 roster. If you no longer wish to participate, please notify the Intramural Coordinator at cavanaughs@sau25.net.

Indoor Soccer Intramural Added for Quarter 1 We are excited to announce an additional intramural sport for Quarter 1! Come and play indoor soccer with the professionals at GPS NH! Indoor soccer is open to both boys and girls of all abilities. Players will enjoy some fun technical exercises with the professional coaches as well as some small-sided soccer games to finish each session. Players should bring a drink of water, indoor shoes and be dressed to play, players should also bring a soccer ball and wear shin guards. Club registration will begin at 5pm this evening (Sept 11). If you have an issue or questions, please email the club advisor directly as each advisor has his/her own registration form. Registration Information: To register, hover over the Clubs tab and select a club from the list. Scroll down to the registration link(s) and be sure to click "Submit" on your form.  IMPORTANT:   If the club has its own club website, the link to register will be on that club's website.

Club descriptions are now available on the McKelvie website. Registration will begin for most clubs on Monday, September 11, at 5pm and will remain open until the club is filled. Exceptions are Band, Chorus, Select Chorus and Strings. These clubs are currently accepting registrations. Clubs are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Each club has its own online registration form and maximum number of participants. You will be notified by the club advisor as to the status of your registration.   Please notify the club advisor directly  if you have any questions, as each club advisor sets his/her own maximum number of participants and schedule.

Intramural Sports for quarter 1 are full, so online registration is now closed. If you submitted a registration, assume that your child is enrolled unless you hear otherwise from the coordinator.

Welcome to McKelvie !!!!!!  We are hosting an ice cream social for McKelvie families  (students, parents, & siblings) who are new to the Bedford School District .  There will be a tour of the building, an informational session and, of course, ice cream.  The social is scheduled for  Wednesday, August 16th  from  2:00 PM to 3:00 PM  in the McKelvie cafeteria. InfoSnap During the afternoon on August 2nd, you should have received an email from the Bedford School District regarding your child's attendance at McKelvie. The process entails confirming registration and making any changes/updates to important information regarding your child(ren). Upon completion of this process, you will be able to log into the Parent Portal.  Once logged into the portal, you will be able to view your child's teacher assignment. Student Council is pleased to announce its annual school-wide talent show.  So, listen up, all talented students!  Tryouts for this year’s highly-anticipated show will be Tuesday, May 16th from 3:30 to 5:00pm.  Accepted acts will be posted on the cafeteria doors by lunch-time on Friday, May 19th.  A dress rehearsal for the show will be held in the cafeteria on Tuesday, June 6th, from 3:30 to 5:00 pm. The show is Wednesday, June 7th, at 6 pm. The talent show will be held on Wednesday, June 7th, at 6:00 pm.  Doors will open at 6:45pm and tickets for ice cream sundaes and root beer floats will be available for $3.00 each, to be served during intermission.  Bottled water will be available for $1.00. COLOR BLAST 5K Fun  R un/ W alk,  Sunday, June 4th  @  10:00a.m. The  Bedford PTG is excited to announce that registration for our first annual Color Blast 5K Run/Walk is open!  Register today  and mark your calendar for a super-fun, family event! Not a runner? That’s OK. You can walk, skip, hop, twirl, dance or stroll your way through six color stations along the 5K route that starts at Lurgio Middle school on the BHS/RAL campus. Be sure to wear white for maximum color affect (you will be blasted with food safe colorful powder). All funds raised from this event will go back into our schools!

McKelvie Student Council would like to invite all students to join us for an after-school viewing of the movie Sing on Wednesday, April 19th.  The show will start at 3:30 and run until 5:30 pm.  There is no charge for the movie, but snacks are available for a small fee.  Italian ice, water, and Capri Sun can be ordered ahead, or students may bring a snack to enjoy during the movie.  All proceeds will go to benefit Student Council activities. This year McKelvie will be performing  Alice in Wonderland . Once again, the play will be directed by Nate Sawyer with Rebecca Coughlin as the Music Director. There will be 3 performances:  May 12th (1 evening performance) and May 13th (1 day and 1 evening performances). Weekly practices will be held on  Monday ,  Tuesday  and  Thursday  starting in March. Auditions will be  Friday, February 10th, from   3:30-5:30  and  Monday, February 13th, from   3:30-5:30 . Please  click here  to sign up for an audition time.

A photographer will be here on the morning of Tuesday, February 7th, to take club photos for the yearbook. If your child is a member of a club this year, please make every effort possible to have him/her present and on time so they won't miss the photo. We also will be taking individual photos of students who either missed the original/retake picture days or are new to the district since November 7th.

McKelvie's Annual Geography Bee  will be held on Thursday, January 26th, on the stage of the school cafeteria beginning at 9:30am. Families are welcome to attend.  In the event of snow, it will be held the following day- same time and pla ce. 

Voting in now open for this year’s front and back yearbook covers.  The theme for the 2016/17 yearbook is “ Explore ”. Details can be found on the Yearbook Club website under Cover Contest. Note that this is for McKelvie students and staff members ONLY and is limited to one vote each for a front cover and back cover. Voting closes at 3pm on Friday, January 13th.
