Student Council is happy to announce “An Afternoon at the Movies”! Wednesday, December 12th, 2018 from 3:30-5:30pm Our viewing of Elf (PG) will begin after school (approximately 3:30 pm) in the cafeteria and will end by 5:30 pm. The runtime is 1 hour and 37 minutes. Please make arrangements to have your child(ren) picked up by 5:30pm at the front entrance of the school. Attendance is $2.00, and all snacks are $1.00.  Students may bring money to purchase one snack and a bottle of water or bring the snack of his or her choice.   Snack Choices (available while supplies last): Rich’s Crunch Cone Rich’s Sour Swell Cherry Bar Rich’s fudge bar Lay’s Baked Chips In order to participate, children must bring this completed form and the movie fee ($2) to the event after school on December 12th.  

McKelvie Intermediate School's annual spelling bee will be held Tuesday, Dec. 18th, in the school cafeteria at 9:30am  (The snow date will be Thursday, Dec. 20th). Parents are welcome to attend!

Signups begin on Monday Oct 29th, at 5pm and will remain open  until filled or Monday November 5th at 9am, whichever comes first .  Important:  All intramurals  will start the week of November 5th and run until the week of January 24th. Witch Way Fun Run It looks like the Wicked Witch of the West is playing a cruel trick on us with the weather for the Lurgio Witch Way Fun Run on Saturday, October 27th. Instead of a tornado, we are getting a Nor'easter. In keeping with our theme of more FUN, we have decided to move our fundraiser indoors, which means we have been able to add more games and activities for the whole family to enjoy. While we won’t be able to trick or trot down County Road, we will be taking our bibbed participants through the school to visit our Halloween-themed pit stops on a journey that culminates in the gymnasium and dining hall with the fun activities of our Witch Way Family Fun Fest. In addition to the costume contest and raffles prizes, we will also have Halloween-themed crafts, inflatable bounce houses, face painting, pumpkin decorating, and so much more! Amy Poisson (McKelvie Enrichment Teacher) and Julie Cote (McKelvie Librarian) are excited to offer a new opportunity for students, our first ever before-school book club! The book we have chosen is a 2018-2019 Great Stone Face Nominee by popular Maine author, Andrew Clements. The title of our selection is The Losers Club. Registration opens on Friday, September 28, 2018, at 5:00 pm . To access the registration link, go to the McKelvie website and click on the Library tab. Destination Imagination Info Night for K-8 will be held on Tuesday, September 25th at 7PM in Room 17 of McKelvie Intermediate School.  This is for all new parents who are interested in hearing more about the program.  Returning families can register their children  here . Registration closes on Friday October 5th, 2018. Destination Imagination is an extra curricular that relies on parent volunteers.  There is no guarantee that your child will be placed on a team, but we work very hard to place every child who registers.  For more info on this wonderful program offered by our district, please check out  www.nh-di.org  or contact our coordinator, Marie Russell at  bedfordrocksdi@gmail.com .

Calling all artists! The Move-A-Thon T-shirt design contest is underway and open to all 6th grade students. Registration begins today, Sept 7th, at 5pm for clubs and intramurals. NOTE: It's very important that you do not submit multiple times for the SAME club/intramural as many of our forms are automatically set up to close down when the session maximum has been reached. Also, in the case of Yearbook Club, there is one rep per homeroom, so if you don't see your homeroom on the list, the position has been filled. Please do not choose a position from another homeroom that your child is not enrolled in. For Clubs: Each club advisor maintains his/her own registration forms. A reminder that Wednesday, September 5th, will be school picture day at McKelvie.

McKelvie Club and Intramural descriptions will be posted to the McKelvie website on Wednesday, September 5th, at 5pm. This will allow families time to review this year's offerings before online registration begins on Friday, September 7th, at 5pm. Registration will remain open until the maximum number of students has been reached or September 14th, whichever comes first. Important Info: Each club and intramural facilitator sets his/her own schedule and maximum number of students, so please review the session info carefully. A reminder that Q4 intramurals, with the exception of Boys' Flag Football and Girls' Softball,  ended last week (5/25/2018). Girls' Softball ends on June 11th and Boys' Flag Football ends on June 12th.

Please note that the remaining days for Q3 floor hockey intramurals have changed.  There are two weeks left for Q3 floor hockey intramurals. Fifth grade usually meets on Wednesday mornings but, due to a necessary schedule change, will meet on Friday mornings. Therefore, last two days for Q3 Grade 5 floor hockey will be: Friday, 3/23 Friday, 3/30 Sixth grade floor hockey usually meets on Tuesday mornings but will now meet on Thursday mornings. During the month of March, every Community Bag sold at the Hannaford store located at 4 Jenkins Road, Bedford NH will generate a $1 donation to support Destination Imagination! A photographer will be here on the morning of Wednesday, January 31st, to take club photos for the yearbook. If your child is a member of a club this year, please make every effort possible to have him/her present and on time so they won't miss the photo.  We also will be taking individual photos of students who either missed the original/retake picture days or are new to the district since October 18, 2017.

Due to the school delay, the Geography Bee originally scheduled for Tuesday, January 23rd, has been rescheduled for Thursday, January 25th, at 9:30am in the cafeteria. Families are welcome to attend!

Under the direction of Nate Sawyer and Musical Director Rebecca Coughlin, the McKelvie Drama Club will be performing  Into the Woods, Jr.   Performances are  May 4th and 5th .  Audition dates are  Thursday , Feb 15th and  Friday, Feb 16th 3:30-5:30 . Please prepare a song of your choice (preferably a showtune, Disney or Choral piece) and be prepared to dance!!  Rehearsals are Mondays  3:30-5:00 , Tuesdays  3:30-5:30 , and Thursdays  3:30-5:30 . Students who are cast are expected to be at  all practices . Prompt pick up is expected at the Main Office doors.   Please click  HERE  to sign up for an audition time.
