New! McKelvie Before-School Book Club

Amy Poisson (McKelvie Enrichment Teacher) and Julie Cote (McKelvie Librarian) are excited to offer a new opportunity for students, our first ever before-school book club! The book we have chosen is a 2018-2019 Great Stone Face Nominee by popular Maine author, Andrew Clements. The title of our selection is The Losers Club.

Registration opens on Friday, September 28, 2018, at 5:00 pm. To access the registration link, go to the McKelvie website and click on the Library tab. Scroll down to “Library News" and look for the post that says "Before-School Book Club Registration Information". Alternatively, you may click the registration link below.

This club will accept 25 students and registrants will be notified via the provided parent/guardian email address. The club will begin on October 11th and ends the last week in November.

Important Update on the McKelvie 2019-20 Yearbook We have not distributed the 2019-20 McKelvie yearbooks yet. Due to Covid, there was a delay in receiving the books and subsequently we discovered a printing issue, so the publisher is reprinting them. Once we have a new delivery date, we will notify families of the plan for distribution. Thanks for your patience during these unprecedented times.

Drama Club Auditions and Information

Under the direction of Nate Sawyer and Musical Director Rebecca Coughlin, the McKelvie Drama Club will be performing  Into the Woods, Jr.   Performances are  May 4th and 5th .  Audition dates are  Thursday , Feb 15th and  Friday, Feb 16th 3:30-5:30 . Please prepare a song of your choice (preferably a showtune, Disney or Choral piece) and be prepared to dance!!  Rehearsals are Mondays  3:30-5:00 , Tuesdays  3:30-5:30 , and Thursdays  3:30-5:30 . Students who are cast are expected to be at  all practices . Prompt pick up is expected at the Main Office doors.   Please click  HERE  to sign up for an audition time. Please  print this rehearsal schedule  and circle any conflicts your child has. They should bring this paper with them to their audition.
